Headaches / Migraines
How can kinesiology help?
Most of us have experienced a headache at one time or another. Headaches are common and can be difficult to cure.
Frequent headaches normally relate to toxins, diet and stress. Food culprits are MSG (mono sodium glutamate) and tyramine-based foods such as coffee, chocolate, alcohol, sour cream, yogurts, miso soups, mouldy foods, cheeses, fermented foods and meats like salami.
Traumas both physically to the head or traumas emotionally can also create head tension.
Headaches are mainly caused by tension stemming from the back of the neck. Migraines are the most severe type of headache, also causing nausea and blurred vision.
Bruxism is the medical term for grinding the teeth and clenching the jaw. Most of us grind our teeth without it causing any symptoms or problems. However, regular, persistent teeth grinding can in time cause jaw pain, discomfort and wear down your teeth. It can also cause headaches and earache.
Cluster headaches are severe throbbing pains on one side of the head around the eye area and can cause flushing of face and nasal congestion. Cluster headaches are among the most painful and can last up to several hours.
We help identify the emotions which trigger the headaches. We keep the hormones and blood sugar levels balanced. We adjust any cranial pressure and look at which foods may be contributing to increasing histamine levels by testing foods which you may be sensitive to.
Identifying emotions – over doing, too busy and not coping with the busyness and being hard on yourself. Headaches can be related to trauma that has not yet been dealt with. Tension is created from holding back emotions – mainly anger or sadness. The general tension around the eyes can come from a refusal to cry. It can also be common to have a headache from having boundary issues, too many people wanting a piece of you.
